Maple Snickerdoodles
One of our family's all-time favorite maple treats!
Soft and chewy with a perfect blend of cinnamon and maple,
these are excellent on their own, but even better dunked in milk, tea, or coffee!
IngredientsÂ
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated white sugar
3 Tbs maple syrup
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Topping:
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup maple sugar

DirectionsÂ
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Cream butter with 1 cup of white sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and maple syrup.
-
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
-
Add dry ingredients to butter mixture in three steps, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
-
For the topping, combine the remaining white and maple sugars in a small bowl.
-
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll them in the sugar topping mixture. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on parchment-lined cookie sheets.
-
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in preheated oven. Remove cookies from oven when top is crackled and slightly browned. Remove the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
