Maple Apple Cheesecake BarsÂ
These are a staple Fall recipe in the Southwell home. It is the perfect combination of apple and maple. Drizzle with warm maple syrup and you have a little bite of heaven!
IngredientsÂ
Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened

Cheesecake Filling:
3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
3/4 maple sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 Tbs maple syrup

Apple:
3 medium size apples
(peeled, cored, chopped. ~3 cups)
2 Tbs maple sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Streusel Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup maple sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup butter, softened

Drizzle:
1/2 maple syrup for drizzle
DirectionsÂ
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 by 13 baking dish.
2. Crust: combine flour and sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter. Press into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly brown.
3. Cheesecake Filling: beat cream cheese until softened. Add in syrup, sugar, eggs, and syrup. Pour over warm crust.
4. Apple: mix all ingredients and spoon over cheesecake batter.
5. Streusel Topping: combine all ingredients and sprinkle over apple mixture.
6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for at least an hour. Drizzle with warmed maple syrup when ready to eat.
